Alice in Wonderland

anyone planning on watching Alice in Wonderland? Looks like it might be pretty cool in 3d. Not sure if it's too dark for my 4 year old.

I'm not a really big fan of Tim Berton the director probably misspelled his name. Also I like Johnny depp but when he was on pirates movies. I saw the charlie and the chocolate factory and I didn't care for it all nor Johnny depp's performance. I get the freaky and dark side of it but I'm just not into it.

Alex: I think it would be too dark for your four year old.

A friend said it wasn't much of a kid movie. After watching the trailer, I thought Elijah Wood was the mad hatter

It's good for children. It's not that interesting for me, though.

I've only watched the coming attractions and get the same impression. The images are somehow not quite what we would expect a four-year-old to enjoy. In fact, they look like the material from which nightmares can be fabricated in innocent children's mind's. I personally prefer the original. Sometimes in striving to produce a superior film version the result is a far inferior product. Maybe this is an example.

I watched it and was pretty disappointed, really long and was very boring. Correct in the statement by Alfonso that this movie could be mistaken for images in a nightmare. Boring boring and I will never get that time back.

I think that most people who decided to watch the film did so because of Johnny Dep's involvement. His acting reputation is so great that one has trouble imagining him being in as bad movie. That happened to me in reference to Mia Jovovich and that film close encounters of the something or other kind. I'm usually lenient with her films because I find her fascinating. But in this one the film was so bad that I turned it off halfway through. Why do actors do this? Maybe they have no choice. It isn't easy to turn down an offer since that's where their bread and butter comes from. You don't want to anger a producer since he'll just get someone else. So maybe you take the acting job just to make ends meet and lower your standards a bit. That decision however is double-edged since reputation and fan trust will inevitably be diminished.
